Description
Sea cucumbers are slow-moving, tube-like echinoderms, like sea urchins and starfish. They can grow up to 50 cm and a width of 5 cm and have a smooth, soft, cylindrical body, with red-brown to yellowish leathery skin. Caught in the waters of Southeast Alaska, sea cucumbers are rich in omega 3’s and other minerals, it is recognized for the beautiful texture of its flesh and its variable therapeutic properties.
Although the sea cucumber may appear strange, each cucumber carries a distinct sweet taste with a tender texture.
